Local electronics chain, CDR-King, has launched its own branded ultraportable, the Fastbook. Although the Fastbook could be mistaken for a netbook, it is not. It does not have an Intel Atom processor. Instead, the Fastbook uses the Intel Core Solo processor running at 1.4GHz. Coupled with 2GBs of RAM, the Core Solo processor might be an old processor but it is still faster than any single core Atom processor out in the market. An 11.6″ display with near 720p resolution, WiFi-N, 250GBs of storage, and a estimated 3 hour battery life, not bad for an ultraportable that only costs PhP15,500.
