Sony Ericsson Walkman phones have been Android-ified; Launches with GLEE Promo

The first Android smartphone with Walkman functionality launches in the local market with a promo and video music contest on Facebook.  Sony Ericsson has announced that the new Sony Ericsson W8 Walkman phone, along with the Sony Ericsson Zylo, Sony Ericsson Spiro and Sony Ericsson Yendo, will come with a featured song from TV’s hit series GLEE.

Each of these Walkman phones will come embedded with the GLEE Cast version of Listen, originally from the award-winning musical Dreamgirls.  Purchase of the specially marked Walkman phones will also entitle buyers to exclusive GLEE:  The Music t-shirts.

Enjoy the unique Android experience on Sony Ericsson W8 Walkman phone which features a 3-inch screen from which to enjoy games, video clips from YouTube or to browse the web.  Additionally, the device features a 3.2-megapixel camera with direct picture upload to Facebook, video recording, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and quick access to the Internet via 3G or WiFi.

The Sony Ericsson W8 Walkman phone ships with a 4GB microSD card, exclusively for the Philippine market.  This will allow users to enjoy more music and more apps to download from the Android Market.

The Sony Ericsson Zylo delivers superb sound with clear audio experience.  The phone supports the high definition FLAC format for the best sound quality ever on a mobile phone.  The Sony Ericsson Zylo also comes preloaded with sounds that can help consumers pretend they are still at work, walking down the street or in a restaurant.  The Sony Ericsson Spiro lets users get one click access to TrackID music recognition software and chat via SMS with easy-to-read conversation bubbles.  The phone also has a 3.5 mm jack, Bluetooth stereo and FM radio.

The Sony Ericsson Yendo with Walkman is the first full touch Walkman phone combining music, social networking and communication in a colorful package.  The phone has a four corner touch user interface for users to find important features in an easy and fun one hand operation.  Its 2-megapixel camera allows users to upload photos straight to the web or send to friends.
