The Inquirer is reporting that HTC, the mobile phone vendor, has confirmed that they have bought majority shares to Beats audio. Beats audio is famous for Dr. Dre and Lady Gaga branded headphones and earphones. According to the site, HTC will take advantage of the acquisition by integrating Beats audio technology into their mobile phones.
With the acquisition (worth $300M), HTC will be the only mobile phone manufacturer that will use the technology. Although it has to be noted that this isn’t the first hardware manufacturer to integrate Beats audio into their systems. HP has been releasing laptops with Beats audio. It is yet undetermined how this acquisition will affect HP’s relationship with Beats audio.
