Hardcore Galaxy Tab 10.1 user will probably have and using one right now which they have bought elsewhere. One level below them, should prepare themselves because as of 8am, August 17, 2011 (just over 8 hour from posting this news) Samsung will make this link http://www.samsung.com/ph/itstimetotab/ live which will allow you to reserve one of the first Galaxy Tab 10.1 or Galaxy S WiFi 5.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 for reservation is the 16GB model of their 10.1in tablet running on the latest Android OS 3.1 (Honeycomb) and the Nvidia Tegra 2 chipset with a dual-core processor. The Tab 10.1 is also 3G capable so you are connected even without WiFi. The other unit for reservation is the Galaxy S WiFi 5. This mini-tablet is a 5in version of the Galaxy S smartphone. The difference from the Galaxy S (aside from the 5in display) is that it does not have a GSM antenna so you won’t be able to make calls with the WiFi 5. It does have WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0. The model of the Galaxy S WiFi 5 that is up for reservation is the 8GB model.

For those that reserve the Tab 10.1, you’ll get PhP3,000 off the SRP at PhP26,990. Aside from the discount, you’ll also get a free leather sleeve to protect your latest purchase. And for those that reserve a Galaxy S WiFi 5 will get a pair of Urbanears headphones for free. Those of you that are unsure or don’t have the cash to pay in full, Samsung will allow you to pay with your BDO credit card for 6 months at 0% interest. Once you get confirmation of your reservation, you can your unit at the ground floor Fashion Walk, Greenbelt 5 on August 21st, 2011 from 8AM – 8PM.

Mechanics

1.        All Philippine local residents may reserve a Galaxy Tab 10.1 or Galaxy S WIFI 5.0 through the Samsung online reservation site starting August 17 to 20, 2011.

2.        Online reservation is open to all Philippine local residents only, note however that claiming may only be done in Metro Manila on the stated venue and on the specified claiming period.

3.        Interested parties are entitled to reserve one (1) of 700 units of Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Metro Manila at a promo offer of P26,990 with a Free leather sleeve. The P26,990 shall also be available for payment on a 0% Banco de Oro Credit Card installment facility for a period of 6 months. (Regular Retail Price: P29,990)

4.        Interested parties are entitled to reserve one (1) of 400 units of Galaxy S Wifi 5.0 in Metro Manila at a regular SRP of P12,990 with a Free Urbanears headphones. The P12,990 shall also be available for payment on a 0% Banco de Oro Credit Card installment facility for a period of 6 months.

5.        The 700 units of Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 400 units of Galaxy S Wifi 5.0 is the first shipment to the Philippines for these model. Retail availability will commence on August 26, 2011.

6.        Reserved units may be claimed at the ground floor Fashion Walk, Greenbelt 5, Makati City on August 21, 2011 from 8AM – 8PM.

7.        Units may only be released to the confirmed registered customers present during the redemption date. Customers can only redeem reserved units in the designated venues indicated on their registration forms.

10.     Registration is free of charge. Customers can only register once.

11.     Customers will be required to provide the following details on the online reservation form:

•          First Name
•          Last Name
•          Email
•          Address
•          Mobile no.

12.     Upon submission, a confirmation email will be received by the customer wherein he/she shall be required to click on the confirmation link to signify completion of his online reservation. Customers should confirm (click the confirmation link) within 24 hours from receipt of confirmation email. Otherwise, reservation will no longer be valid.

13.     Reservation is not complete and confirmed until the confirmation link has been clicked.

14.     Online Reservation Promo Period: August 17, 2011 8:00 AM to August 20, 2011 11:59PM

15.     On the day of claiming, customers with confirmed reservations must present the following:

•          Print out of the confirmation email received
•          Photocopy of valid ID with photo (ie. Govt Issued ID, School/Company ID)
•          Authorization letter (if a representative will be claiming the unit)

16.     Upon verification of all required documents, customers shall be required to pay for their reserved unit at the counter.

17.     Customers will have an option to pay in cash, straight card purchase or 6 months installment at 0% interest. Disclaimer for 0% interest is subject to bank approval. Valid only if monthly bills are paid in full.

18.     Reservations claimed after the designated date will no longer be valid.

19.     Customers with reservation at a designated area/venue will not be allowed to claim at a different venue.

20.     Customers with reservation for a model will not be allowed to change his reservation to purchase a different model.
