Starting today, Facebook is rolling out a new feature called Subscribe. This let you subscribe to other people on Facebook that are not necessarily your friend. You can follow their public updates. Sound familiar? This is essentially Twitter within Facebook. Although the Subscribe feature in Facebook allows your filter the kinds updates you want to see. You are able to choose whether to just be updated on their public status updates and not get their game and/or photo updates.
What about those that are already your friends on the site? The Subscribe features again allows you to filter the kinds of updates such as getting all their updates with the “all Updates” option or just “muting” them until you expressly converse with them with the “Only Important” option under the Subscribe button.
And for those that are concerned about their privacy, this feature is opt-in. This means that you will have to enable it by clicking the “Allow Subscribers” in the Subscription Page.
Google Plus users will also be familiar with this feature as Subscribe is pretty much like placing people in one of their Circles and getting the public updates.
