While Acer was showing off its Aspire S3 Ultrabook, quietly sitting on the side of the room is the Iconia Tab A100 tablet. The Iconia Tab A100 is Acer’s 7” tablet offering with the latest Android OS 3.2 (Honeycomb). Android 3.2 was specifically optimized from smaller tablets such as the 7” display of the Iconia Tab.
Similar to its bigger brother, the A500, the Iconia Tab A100 runs on Nvidia’s Tegra 2 1GHz dual-core processor with Nvidia graphics. It has a 5MP A/F rear camera with flash which can record 720p video, 2MP front-facing camera, 6-axis Motion Sensor, Acer clear.fi WiFi solution, and Dolby Mobile sound.
Just a day before the Acer launch, I have already spotted the Iconia Tab A100 being sold at the CyberZone in SM Mega Mall. Acer has confirmed this by saying that the 7” tablet has just arrived this month. Also according to Acer, the A100 units that are being sold local here will be in Blue with the Rose/Red color arriving after.
The units that are sold locally have 8GBs of storage with an microSD card slot for additional storage. They are also WiFi only, although a 3G version could be coming in the near future.
The Acer Iconia Tab A100 is being sold for PhP17,900.
