Here in the Philippines, Panasonic is more associated with home entertainment and appliances. Their plasma TVs are one of the best around. However, in Japan, Panasonic is also synonymous with mobile phones as well.
According to various news sources, the Japanese consumer electronics company is planning to expand its mobile phone market outside Japan. By next year, 2012, Panasonic will start selling its mobile phones in Europe and expand from there. It plans to sell 9 million smartphones outside Japan by the end of their fiscal year, March 31, 2016.
There is still little information surrounding the kind of smartphone that it will launch in Europe. All we know so far is that it will be have a 4.3” display with 960×540 resolution OLED display and a water-proof and dust-proof design. The phone will also be running OS.
