On Thursday, Samsung launched it ultra-thin, ultra-light, 14” display laptop, the Samsung Chronos at the Time Bar in Makati. In order to emphasize the Chronos’ speed, Samsung brought in Race Driver, JP Tuason to host the launch. Part of the launch was a contest using 4 stations of Tuason Racing School’s (TRS) driving simulator which were each run by the Samsung Chronos.

The Chronos comes with a 64-bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium. The Series 7 laptop sports an Intel Core i5 2430M dual-core processor running at 2.4GHz and AMD’s Radeon HD 6490M GPU. It also has 6GBs of RAM and a 750GB with Express Cache that will significantly reduce boot time. Ports abound with an USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports, multi-card slot, audio in/out, and an Ethernet port. The Chronos even includes a slot-in optical disc drive. With the 14” 1600×900 resolution, 300 nits display, the screen is bright. Speaking of bright, the keyboard is also backlit.

The Samsung Chronos is set to retail for PhP69,900.
