Off on the heels of Samsung’s Galaxy Ace Plus announcement, the Korean electronics company is also announcing the Galaxy M.
According to the Samsung Tomorrow Blog (in Korean), The Galaxy M is an entry-level smartphone sporting a huge 4-inch Super AMOLED display. The Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) running phone has a 1GHz single-core processor, 4GB storage, 3MP rear-facing and VGA front-facing cameras, Bluetooth 3.0, and a 1650mAh battery. The Galaxy M will also come in 3 colors, Platinum Silver, Blue Black, and Lavender Pink.
While the Samsung blog states that the Galaxy M is an entry-level smartphone, the same blog also says that the phone will retail for $500 or roughly PhP21,995. That price in our shores is on the high-end pricing of the mid-range smartphones. From the announced specs, while the 4-inch display and 1GHz CPU are great features, it still isn’t enough to justify the pricing if the other specs stay the same and especially the Galaxy Ace Plus has been announced.
We’ll have to wait and see if the Galaxy M will even arrive here and if it sticks to the PhP21,995 retail price.
