Looks like it’s a good start of the year for Smart Communications. Just as it has gotten Apple’s latest smartphone, the iPhone 4S late last year, Smart has announced that it has gotten the exclusive on the latest Google phone, the Galaxy Nexus. Built in cooperation with Samsung, the Galaxy Nexus features the latest version of Google’s Android OS, version 4 or better known as Ice Cream Sandwich. It has additional features such as Face Unlock and and Android Beam which lets you transfer data by tapping to another NFC-equipped phone with ICS.

On the hardware side, the Galaxy Nexus features 1.2GHz dual core processor, a 4.65″ screen with Super AMOLED display at 720p resolution, and NFC (Near Field Communication).

The Galaxy Nexus will be free for those that avail of Smart’s Postpaid Unli Data Plan 2000. Smart already has a pre-order page on their site so you can pre-order the Galaxy Nexus until January 27, 2012 will be available for pick up on the 28th.
