Looks like Google hasn’t lost its sense of humor. In fact, they didn’t do just one but three April Fools Pranks this year. The search company has released 3 videos announcing 3 products on April 1st.
First of is Gmail Tap which replaces the traditional soft QWERTY keyboard with just three buttons, a Dash, a Dot, and the Spacebar. With just three buttons and the knowledge of Morse Code, Google says it will speed up your email efficiency. And with Gmail Tap Multitasking, you can write two emails simultaneously.
Next Google product is Google Maps 8-bit for NES and Famicom. That’s right, Google will start selling cartridges for the Nintendo Entertainment System and Famicom. The cartridge will have its own modem to connect to the servers at Google and it even boasts Voice Search using the Famicom’s 2nd controller mic. The user interface will be very familiar to JRPG aficionados as well.
Finally, Google also announced Google Fiber. While most people think that Google Fiber will allow select US cities access to Gigabit Internet access, think again. The video below shows what the real intention of Google Fiber is.
Happy April Fools! Who did you fool today?
