Nokia Launches Lumia 710 Mid-Range Windows Phone with Smart

With much flair, Smart and Nokia has teamed up to announce the launch of the Nokia 710 in the local market. Nokia’s mid-range Windows Phone was seen and played with at the Resorts World yesterday.

The Nokia Lumia 710 is part of the Smart’s Special Edition Data Plan 1000. With the Plan 1000, you can get the Lumia 710 at an amortized and discounted price of PhP450 a month for 24 months. The Lumia 710 also features a version of Smart’s SmartNet App specifically for Windows Phone. These means that you get all the functionality of SmartNet with the Nokia Lumia 710.

The Lumia 710 is Nokia’s mid-range Windows Phone in between the Lumia 800, 900, and 610. The 3.7” display boasts 480×800 resolution and Nokia ClearBlack. ClearBlack allows the display to produce deep blacks as well as the ability to read the display in very bright environments. The display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass. The Lumia 710 is powered by Qualcomm’s 1.4GHz single-core Snapdragon processor coupled with 512MB RAM and 8GB storage. It also sports a 5MP rear-facing camera with autofocus and LED flash.

The Lumia 710 also boasts the latest version of Windows Phone, codenamed Mango. You will have the choice of Black, White, Cyan, Yellow (front)/Black (rear), Fuchsia, and White (front)/Black (rear).

Also announced is that Smart will be the exclusive carrier of the Lumia 900. While the Lumia 800 was the first Windows Phone smartphone from the Finnish company, the Lumia 900 takes the top billing terms of features. It an updated 1.4GHz Snapdragon processor and 512 RAM but the Lumia has 16GB storage and an 8MP camera with autofocus, dual-LED flash, and Carl Zeiss lens. The camera also supports 720p30 video with video stabilization. It also sports a 1.3MP front-facing camera that can be used for video conferencing. All of these features in a smartphone with a 4.3” capacitive touchscreen AMOLED display with a 480×800 resolution. Just like the Lumia 710, the Lumia 900 also sports Corning Gorilla Glass and Nokia ClearBlack. You can have the Lumia 900 in Black or in Cyan.

The Nokia Lumia 710 is exclusively available through Smart right now while the top-end Lumia 900 will be available in May of this year.
