As Google’s Developer conference, GoogleIO gets closer, rumors of Google’s vanilla tablet, similar to the Nexus series of smartphones are hyping up. This time, Phonearena.com has posted supposedly leaked images of the Nexus tablet.
From the first image, the device looks like an large smartphone without any buttons. In fact, at first glance, it does look like a white Samsung Galaxy S III without the middle button mated with a previous generation iPhone. The second image looks shows the back of the device with a rear-facing camera on top and brandings for Google and Asus. Again, the volume rocker looks like it was ripped from an iPhone 3GS or an iPod Touch.
Rumors are also making the rounds as for the specs of the device. It is said to be a 7″ tablet with a quad-core, Tegra 3 chipset as well as sporting a newer version of Android, Jelly Bean. The most compelling rumor is that the price will be around $250 (PhP10,800).
To be honest, this writer thinks that the leaked images have a little too much discrepancies that it could be considered an elaborate hoax. This writer, as well as you, should take this news with a grain of salt. Then again, if the device does look like the photos, I wouldn’t be surprised if there are a few more patent and copyright litigations flying around.
