It’s a date! After months of speculations on the launch date of Microsoft’s next Windows OS, the software giant has finally announced the official launch date of Windows 8. It was generally known that Windows 8 will arrive later this year and many have speculated that it would be around October–which was also confirmed to us by people in the industry. The October date was finally announced by Microsoft during this month’s Microsoft World Partners Conference in Toronto Canada. However, no specific date was stated.
According to the official Windows Team Blog, October 26, 2012 is the date that was announced during Microsoft’s annual sales meeting by Stephen Synofsky. It is on this date that customers will be able to purchase the next version of the Windows OS–either through upgrade or on new PCs.
