Yesterday, Asus launched two new members of their Transformer Pad family, the Infinity TF700 and the TF300.

The Infinity is the latest and greatest Asus Transformer Pad. It is the first Android tablet that is capable of showing FullHD 1080p videos with its 1920×1200 resolution display. The display is also Super IPS+ which should be bright enough (600 nit) to view outdoors. Protecting the display is Corning’s Gorilla Glass 2 which is thinner but still retains the same scratch resistance as the first. In the audio side, Asus is using its SonicMaster technology which should provide better quality audio than other tablet speakers.

Inside, the Transformer Pad Infinity is using Nvidia’s Tegra 3 chipset which features a quad-core processor and a powerful mobile GPU. The quad-core processor is running at 1.6GHz which combined with the GPU should enable the tablet to be a capable gaming platform.

Other features of the Transformer Pad Infinity are an 8MP back-illuminated rear-facing camera with an f/2.2 lens and LED flash. This allows for usable photos even in low light settings. It is also capable of recording Full 1080p videos. It also has a 2MP front-facing camera which is perfect for Skype video calls.

As for the Transformer Pad TF300, we have had our hands on it. The TF300 also features Nvidia’s Tegra 3 chipset but 300MHz lower than the Infinity at 1.3GHz. And while the Infinity has a metal back plate, the TF300 has sturdy polycarbonate back plate.

The TF300 has the same 8MP rear-facing camera as on the Infinity but the front-facing camera is only 1.2MP.

As with previous Transformer Pads, both the Infinity TF700 and the TF300 will include a mobile dock which adds a keyboard, trackpad, ports, and a second battery to extend the life of either tablet.

For those that want to be on the bleeding edge, Asus Philippines announced that both Transformers will be upgraded to Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) along with the Transformer Prime.

The Transformer Pad Infinity will be available for PhP37,995 while the Transfomer Pad TF300 will be available for PhP24,995 by the first week of August.
