Google, in an attempt to deliver better services has bridged its search engine with its Gmail service to deliver better, more personal responses to their search queries. This search experiment uses Google’s search engine to scour through a user’s Gmail account for any information that may be tied to a search request. For example, a search for “FedEx” could show emails with shipping information sent to the user.

The Gmail results will typically be shown on the right of the main search results, though at times, answers that have been directly extracted from the email will be highlighted and appear on top of the results. Some of the uses of this feature include: emails relevant to your search, contacts and their recent emails, and enhanced flight tracking.

The trial will only be available in English for @gmail.com addresses and due to limited capacity, only some may avail of it. You can opt out of the trial at anytime if you choose to join.
