The Microsoft Surface won’t be the only tablet in the market running Windows 8 when it launches in October as Lenovo announces its very own Intel Atom-running ThinkPad Tablet 2. At 0.39 inches, the ThinkPad will be utilizing a 10.1-inch 1366×768 display, weighing in at a light 1.3 pounds. It also comes with 4G LTE internet, 8MP front and 2MP rear cameras, full-size USB and HDMI ports, and the option for a digitizer and fingerprint reader.
As an enterprise device, peripherals are definitely supported such as the keyboard attachment with the signature TrackPoint nub for cursor control that also doubles as a dock.
Prices have yet to be announced, which will determine if the ThinkPad Tablet 2 will be a fitting contender against the Microsoft Surface.
