The Canon EOS 650D has finally arrived to our shores to let your touch its screen. That’s right, the 650D is the first Canon DSLR camera to have a 3″ display touch screen — seconded only by the EOS M camera. The vari-angle clear view 3″ LCD II camera incorporates touch screen capabilities that lets you adjusts such as exposure or shutter speed.
Along with the 3″ display touch screen the new 650D has the same 18MP APS-C CMOS sensor as its predecessor but its processor has been upgraded to the new DIGIC 5. This allows the 650D to shoot at 5 frames per second as well as ISO up to 12800. The 650D also has Hybrid CMOS AF which should allow for fast auto-focusing when in live view or in movie mode.
The EOS 650D camera body is available for PhP41,998. It is also available kitted with the 18-55 IS II for PhP46,998 or with the new EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM for PhP60,998.
Also released along with the 650D are two new lenses using Canon’s latest STM technology that allows the lenses to move smoothly and quietly that the microphones on the camera do not pick up the motor on the lenses. The EF 40mm f/2.8 STM “pancake” lens and the EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM should be available now.
