The Nexus 7 tablet is the first to have Google’s latest Android 4.1 OS, Jelly Bean. It looks like another Asus tablet will be the third — the Motorola Xoom was the second — to have Jelly Bean. The Transformer Pad TF300 will be the first Transformer Pad, and the 2nd third party tablet to have the latest OS version.

According to their Facebook page:

We are pleased to announce that we will be rolling out a major software update for the ASUS Transformer Pad TF300, which will bring Androidâ„¢ 4.1, Jelly Bean to the device for the first time in North America.

While the announcement of the OS update was only for US customers, it wouldn’t be that long for the update to arrive to our shores.

The Transformer Pad TF300 is was just launched recently to the local market, along with its bigger brother, the Transformer Infinity TF700. Currently, the both the TF300 and the Infinity TF700 have version 4.0 of the Android OS (Ice Cream Sandwich).

According to the same Facebook page, the TF300 will be first of the Transformer line to get the update so those of you who have the other versions of the Transformer shouldn’t be worried.
