LG Announces Optimus L9 Smartphone Touting Translation Ability

Looks like a busy week for LG. Just one day after the Korean company announced the Optimus G, LG is announcing its latest smartphone in its L-series, the Optimus L9.

The LG Optimus L9 will offer a 4.7″ IPS display and a large capacity 2,150mAh battery. The smartphone has a 1GHz dual-core processor with 1GB RAM and 4GB storage. It also has a 5MP rear-facing camera and is running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

As with other LG smartphones, the L9 comes with with LG’s UX interface and QMemo app where you can take notes even within another app. And because it is a L-series smartphone, the L9 is slim and stylish.

The LG Optimus L9 will also offer OCR capability with QTranslator. QTranslator lets you use the L9’s camera to point to words, sentences, and even paragraphs to be translated from around 44 foreign languages to 64 user languages.

There is currently no word on local availability and pricing.
