Sony Announce Its First 4K LCD TV

At this year’s IFA in Berlin, Sony announced its first 4K LCD TV. The XBR-84X900 gives you 4x the resolution of 1080p at (3840×2160).

The XBR-84X900 uses Sony’s 4K X-Reality PRO engine that is able to upscale any source into 4k resolution. The engine is capable of processing 3D content higher than 1080p FullHD.

Its 10 unit Live Speaker system are designed to complement the visuals of the 4K TV. The speaker system is also capable of simulating 5.1 surround sound.

The Sony Bravia XBR-84X900 TV is WiFi-enabled which mean that you can connect the TV in your home network so that it can use content from your other network-enabled devices such as tablets, smartphones, and the PlayStation 3. It can even access online content.

The Sony XBR-84X900 LCD TV is only slated for North America and will be available this year.
