So that cat is out of the bag – again – as Nokia has finally unveiled its latest premium Lumia smartphone the Lumia 920.
The Lumia 920 will come in different colors (White, Black, Red, Grey, Yellow) as the previous Lumia phones. It is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor running at 1.5GHz. It still retains the same design as the Lumia 900.
The Lumia 920 uses Nokia’s PureMotion HD+. It provides HD resolution (1280×768 WXGA resolution) and fast refresh rates to keep the UI animations and videos smooth on its 4.5” curved display. It has an improved ClearBlack technology which automatically adjusts the tone and brightness based on the intensity of the ambient light. It will have 32GB of storage with 7GB of free online storage via SkyDrive.
Its rear camera has PureView technology embedded. It isn’t the same 41MP sensor as the PureView 808 smartphone but an 8.7MP sensor. It uses a lens from Carl Zeiss as with other premium Nokia phones. Its lens is a f/2.0 aperture lens and optical image stabilization. The Lumia 920 also has a 1.2MP front camera.
The Lumia 920 has indoor mapping capability which is part of Windows Phone 8. And with the Nokia City Lens you can use Nokia Maps to go to your destination using Augmented Reality.
It comes with a 2000 mAh battery, NFC, and wireless charging capability.
So it looks like the rumors were true including the addition of PureView and wireless charging.
The Nokia Lumia 920 will be available this year and will come in pentaband LTE and HSPA+ variants.
