Even nine months after Megaupload’s demise, anti-piracy companies continue to send DMCA takedown notices to Google because they think the sites are hosing infringing content.
Megaupload isn’t the only dead site that still garners numerous takedown notices and shares the status with Demonoid, BTjunkie and many other already dead sites. It seems these companies don’t bother checking their facts and continue to beat a dead horse while expecting Google to clean up the mess they make. Google has now even produced its own Transparency Report to show people who asks for what to be taken down.
