GoDaddy.com, whose services were largely unavailable last Monday, has confirmed that the outage was not a hacking incident, but “ a series of internal network events that corrupted router data tables.”
When the site and its various services went down last Monday, an alleged member of the hacktivist group Anonymous claimed that it was a distributed denial-of-service attack(DDoS) on Twitter. In the apology made by Go Daddy interim CEO Scott Wagner, the problem was with their internal network and they’ve managed to fix it, which hopefully it will not happen again. Wagner also assures its clients that “at no time was any sensitive customer information, such as credit card data, passwords or names and addresses, compromised.”
