Apple has begun rolling out their latest update, the iOS 6 for current-generation devices before their September 21st release of the iPhone 5. The new update is available to the iPhone 4S, 4, 3GS, iPod touch, iPad 2, and the new iPad.
The most prominent features in iOS 6 are the absence of Google apps such as Google Maps and the YouTube app. Apple replaces the mapping function with its own Maps app that includes turn-by-turn navigation and uses a vector based engine. Other features include updates to Siri, Facetime, Phone, Mail, Safari. Now they have Facebook integration, the ability to share photo streams, Passbook, and the Accessibility to make things easier for people with disabilities.
The full list of features is available on the company’s site and a list of which features are available locally.
