Acer Philippines recently unveiled their newest Windows 8 touch-enabled ultrabook, the Aspire S7. The Aspire S7 fuses functionality with a sleek and fashionable form, perfect for on-the-go professionals.

With full HD capabilties and 10-finger multitouch, the 13.3″ (1920×1080) Corning Gorilla Glass 2 cover displays content beautifully. The Acer Aspire S7 runs on a dual core 2.6GHz Ivy Bridge i5 processor with 4GB RAM, 256GB SSD with RAID 0 support, and Intel HD Graphics 4000 graphics card. The S7 runs on Windows 8 Single Language, with Windows 8 RT possibly coming in the future.

An interesting feature of the Aspire S7 is its electroluminescent (EL) backlit keyboard that comes with a light sensor that detects changes in lighting conditions and adjusts the backlight accordingly. With this feature, typing in low light conditions will be a breeze.

The S7 has great heat management with Acer’s TwinAir cooling system, which consists of two fans performing opposite roles, one pulling cold air while another pushes warm air out, enhancing the heat sinking process.

Acer Green Instant On and Acer Always Connect, proprietary features, make using the S7 a breeze. With Green Instant On, the S7 boots up in 6 seconds, resumes from sleep mode in 1.5 seconds and can last up to 80 days in Deep Sleep. With Always Connect, the S7 regularly refreshes applications when connected to the Internet.

Acer management has been pretty quiet about pricing, but they’ve said that the S7 should retail at about P70,000.
