Along with the iPad mini, Apple also introduced an updated version of the Mac mini, running an Ivy Bridge processor, which starts at $599. The cheapest model runs a 2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5, 500GB hard drive and 4GB RAM. The next model is a $799 model that runs a 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 and 1TB hard drive. A $999 server model has the same specs as the i7 model, but includes 2 1TB hard drives and OS X Server.
The i7 model’s storage is configurable to 256GB SSD or a hybrid 1TB fusion drive, which combines a 128GB flash storage drive with a 1TB or 3TB HDD. The new Mac mini runs the same Intel HD 4000 graphics as the new 13″ MacBook Pro with Retina Display. The Mac minis are available now for shipping on the Apple site.
