The Oct. 29th Google Android event to be held in New York City has been cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy hitting their shores. The devices that were rumored to make an appearance at the event were the 10-inch Nexus Tablet, the Nexus 4, and variants of the existing Nexus 7. On Friday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo declared a state of emergency in response to the arrival of Sandy, and the waterfront pier where the Google event was to be held is now an evacuation zone.
Microsoft however will be pushing through its Windows Phone 8 launch to be held at San Francisco, which should avoid Hurricane Sandy, luckily for Microsoft.
