With the release of the Windows Phone 8, Skype has unveiled their newest app for the mobile OS. It has been reworked from the ground up so that it seamlessly integrates with the clean and modern look of the Windows Phone 8.

Essentially the new Skype app integrates itself into the WP8 design and calls from Skype look like regular calls. Chats and calls can be received even if you’re using another app, just like a regular call or message. Design-wise, its quite sleek, clean, and modern, which fits right in with the Live Tile display on the WP8. Notifications appear on the Start Screen without the need to navigate to the app itself.

Once you sign in to Skype on your phone, your contacts are automatically added to your phone so you can directly call them from the People Hub. Just like the regular Skype app, linking your Skype name and Microsoft account allows you to chat with your Messenger buddies.
