Google to remove background customization feature on search page

On November 16, 2012, Google will stop support for Classic Plus, a customization feature for background images on the search page. This Bing-like feature was introduced around 2 years ago as a way for users to customize their search experience.

The search giant had mentioned that they would slowly be removing support to the feature as part of their spring cleaning efforts. Users would be unable to upload new backgrounds starting October 16, and a month later they would shut down the service. The company says that as they continue to streamline the search page, they will be unable to support background customization
