Google Fiber is live in Kansas City and Google has begun connecting homes to the service. Google first set foot in Kansas City on July of 2011 and began laying down the groundwork for ultra high-speed broadband.

One of the first people to experience real world speeds of Google Fiber was Mike Demarais who tweeted the photo above when Google finished hooking up the service. The base gigabit Google Fiber service costs $70/month, with no data caps. With speeds like that, one wonders what you could with it. We wonder though how long it will take for something like that to reach our shores, but we are hopeful. What would you do if you had access to such speeds?
