Acer’s latest TravelMate B113, aimed towards students, features an 11.6-inch (1366 x 768) LCD display while having a thickness of 1-inch at a light 3 pounds. The ultraportable runs Windows 8 Pro on an Intel Ivy Bridge Core i3 processor with 4GB RAM, upgradeable to 8GB with a 500GB SATA hard disk. The B113 isn’t touch-enabled so running Windows 8 Pro will be a drag, but it also comes with Windows 7 Professional. The six-cell battery is expected to last about seven hours, perfect for the on-the-go student without having to compete for limited power outlets.
It comes with the usual proprietary Acer security and management tools such as Acer ProShield Manager to keep your data secure.
The Acer TravelMate B113 are available at resellers in the US for $399.
