Last week Twitter reported problems with showing Instagram photos on its feed because the photo app disabled Twitter Cards integration. As a result some users were unable to view Instagram photos on their Twitter feeds while others were still able to. A Facebook spokesperson has confirmed to AllThingsD that Instagram has completely turned off support for Twitter Cards integration.
Users can still post Instagram links, but they won’t be able to view them on their Twitter photo streams any longer. Twitter has updated their previous status message on their site to confirm the disabling.
This isn’t a surprise as Twitter’s relationship with Instagram soured after the latter was purchased by Facebook. Twitter is also looking to introduce its own photo filter update to its app this holiday season.
