Philippine handset brand, Torque, unveils their latest Android-powered devices with Torque Media technology. We were introduced to the dual-SIM DROIDZ series, which included the DROIDZ Atom, DROIDZ Blast, DROIDZ Portal, and DROIDZ Ultimate. These new devices come with a premium look, but drop the premium price tag. These devices should be arriving next month in stores near you.

DROIDZ Atom

The DROIDZ Atom draws inspiration from Samsung devices and looks quite like similar to the Galaxy S III Mini. It sports the usual rounded corners, chrome trim, and similar home button. It may look the part, but its insides are quite different. The DROIDZ Atom is powered by a dual-core 1GHz MediaTek processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB storage, and runs Android 4.0 ICS. It has a 4-inch (800 x 480) WVGA touchscreen and a 5MP rear camera and VGA front camera. Prices haven’t been announced but Torque execs has hinted that it should be around P4, 000.

DROIDZ Motion

Like the DROIDZ Atom, the DROIDZ Motion also shares similarities with a Samsung device. Looking like a Galaxy Note II, it sports the less rounded corners of the Note, chrome trim and similar size to match. The 5.3-inch (960 x 540) handset is powered by a dual-core 1GHz MediaTek processor, 512MB RAM, and 4GB storage. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and has an antenna for Mobile TV with an 8MP rear and VGA front camera. Prices haven’t been announced but Torque execs have hinted that their phones won’t pass the P10k mark.

DROIDZ Portal

The DROIDZ Portal features the same dual-core 1GHz MediaTek processor, 512MB RAM, and 4GB storage. It runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on a 7-inch WSVGA (1024 x 600) screen with an 8MP rear and VGA front camera. Like the Motion it also has Mobile TV, perfect for telenovela loving Filipinos.

DROIDZ Ultimate

The DROIDZ Ultimate takes inspiration from the other big brand, Apple. At first look it shares similarities with the iPad but the rear of the device doesn’t share the same similarities. It also features a dual-core 1GHz MediaTek processor, 1GB RAM, and 8GB storage. It runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on a 9.7-inch XGA (1024 x 768) screen with an 8MP rear and 2MP front camera.
