Nokia plans to release a new line of Lumia Windows Phone devices for 2013. Sources have revealed that for their next lineup, one of their high-end phones would have an aluminum construction. With an aluminum body, the new device codnamed Catwalk could be lighter and thinner than the existing Lumia 920 that has Nokia’s traditional polycarbonate body.
As the successor to the Lumia 920, the Catwalk would debut as the company’s flagship Windows Phone 8 device with somewhat similar internal hardware. The last time Nokia put out an aluminum device was for its first Symbian 3 device, the N8. The shift away from a polycarbonate body could give the company a device that could compete against Apple’s iPhone in size and weight.
