After debuting their gigantic chalkboard-type “floating” 4K television, Samsung has finally opened it up for a Korean release. The 85-inch UN85S9 will be available in a limited pre-order of 77 units to be released in March. A reason for such a limited number of units is because of its price, a whopping 40 million won, or about $38,000. That seems to be the price to pay for 4K resolution and the metal stands that double as speakers to keep the screen itself quite thin.
It seems Samsung felt they could go bigger and showed off two larger 4K models at CES: a 95-inch and a 110-inch. With the 85-inch model in limited quantities and priced as it is, the two larger models will surely be in even more limited numbers.
