We’ve all been there, our mobile phone just runs out of battery when we need it the most, a charger nowhere in sight. Well Denso can fix that as it has developed the world’s first integrated, in-vehicle wireless mobile phone charger. In collaboration with Philips and Lite-On Digital Solutions, the Qi-compatible wireless phone charger will appear in the US on the 2013 Toyota Avalon Limited as part of its available technology package.

“As smartphones become more widely-used in vehicle connectivity, this new product provides a convenient charging solution that is needless of cords and connections,” said Hiroyuki Wakabayashi, executive director responsible for DENSO’s Information & Safety Systems Business Group.

The charger has been designed to meet the global Qi standard so it should work with most gadgets using the wireless charging technology such as HTC, LG, Samsung, Sony and many others.
