As MWC 2013 draws closer, more and more details on the latest devices emerge. The folks at SamMobile have unearthed details about Samsung’s next-generation flagship device that many have been waiting for.
Rumors of a Galaxy S IV had been making rounds, what with a Samsung roadmap showing a 1080p screen and its release of the 8-core Exynos 5 Octa mobile processor. It seems that the next-generation device, previously codenamed “Project J” now changed to “Altius (J)” will be coming in black and white at around mid April. Other details that have been revealed include wireless charging capabilities for the Altius’ 2600 mAh battery. Other those details, most of the specifications of the device have been speculation, including a 4.99-inch 1080p AMOLED display, Exynos 5 Octa CPU, Mali-T658 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 13MP rear shooter and a 2MP front shooter, and running Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean.
However Samsung might drop the S IV and go with the Altius name, as with Asian cultures the number 4 is considered bad luck. This can be seen with its internal model number of GT-I9500, when the Galaxy S III’s number is GT-I9300.
