Nikon has been pretty busy as it overhauls the Coolpix point-and-shoot lineup with seven new cameras. It had been quiet at CES, only releasing the J3 and S1 interchangeable cameras, but it’s going all out with these all new camera offerings that focus on zoom range, ruggedness, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
At the top of the line is the Coolpix P520 which boasts 42x zoom, an 18.1MP sensor, a 3.2-inch tilting LCD monitor, built-in GPS and support for Nikon’s WU-1a Wi-Fi adapter. The ultra zoom Coolpix P520 comes in at $449.99. Following that is the Coolpix S9500 that sports 22x zoom, 18.1MP sensor, and a 3-inch OLED monitor. Part of Nikon’s “Ultra-slim Zoom” range, the S9500 comes with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi capabilities comes in at $349.95.
Next up is the durable Nikon Coolpix AW110 that’s waterproof to 59ft, shockproof to 6.7ft and freezeproof till -10°C. It’s got a 16MP sensor, 5x zoom, a 3-inch OLED display, built-in GPS and Wi-Fi at $349.95.
Nikon’s other offerings include the 16MP Coolpix L820 with 30x zoom for $279.95 and the 16MP CoolPix S5200 with 6x zoom for $179.95. Finally Nikon also offers both the compact Coolpix L28 and the sturdy Coolpix S31 for $119.95.
