With all the recent attention stirred up by the rumored Apple iWatch, could Samsung also be working on its own “smartwatch?” A few screen-grabs that appear to be from a timepiece running Android, accompanied by the name Samsung Galaxy Altius, have been found by SlashGear. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of the Galaxy Altius, as it has previously been associated with the Galaxy S IV.
SKT and SK Telecom peeping out on several shots, so we assume that it will have a data plan on that South Korean carrier. A 500 x 500 pixel LCD display is entirely possible considering the information on the screen-grabs. The menu seems to be organized into tiles, showing off a music player, a clock, an email or messaging tile, and what could be a map tile as well. The last two tiles are cut off and the bottom looks to have a slider so the “smartwatch” could be touch friendly.
It’s entirely possible that these images were created by an eager Samsung fan so take this information with a pinch of salt.
