Blizzard’s latest installment to the StarCraft series, StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm goes live in just a few hours. Locally distributed by X-Play, the latest expansion continues the StarCraft story through the Queen of Blades, Sarah Kerrigan and her Zerg brood. Enhancements abound, Heart of the Swarm expands on the core game with all new campaign missions, units, and improved multiplayer features.
“Heart of the Swarm enhances every aspect of Star Craft II,” according to Mike Morhaime, co-founder and CEO of Blizzard Entertainment. “In addition to Kerrigan’s campaign and the new multiplayer units and maps, we think players will really enjoy the new online elements and new features that make StarCraft II more fun and easier to learn than ever before.
Over the course of 20 new campaign missions, you follow the Queen of Blades as she exacts revenge on Arcturus Mengsk with her Zerg brood. For multiplayer, each race gets new units such as the Terran Hellbats, Zerg Swarm Hosts, and Protoss Tempests, while existing units are enhanced or removed. A helpful new feature for multiplayer games involves game replays and assuming control at any point. For example, in the off chance that you and your friends get a dropped game due to network problems, you can replay your exact game and continue from where you left off.
